Listener comment line!

OK, I know there is no show yet (working on it now) but we do have a listener comment line. So if you don't want to type you can call (206) 350-0592 and leave a voice message. We may play them on the show so be nice! ;-)

You must leave your name and way (either email or phone) to get ahold of you, but I will NEVER publish, share or broadcast your personal information without asking you first, or unless you request it. (that's why I need the contact info) If you leave a message and you want to be anonymous, please just let us know. I can withhold your name or disguise your voice if you feel you need it. Truth sometimes requires protection, and we're all about truth right after Brotherly Love and Relief.

More Progress

All of the hardware is in, it is working and there is just one last piece and that's the Soundtrack Pro software. That should be here FINALLY on Thursday. I have been recording some promos and sound effects for the show and learning to use the equipment. Garageband is remarkably capable, but I can already see its limitations.

I am pleased to report that we will have a Masonic Quiz with each Podcast. The name is in progress, and I'll have more to announce when all the ducks are lined up, but suffice it to say I think you'll enjoy it. Participation is good. If you have ideas, or suggestions for the show please send them, don't be shy. This is all about you, the listener.

We are not yet doing the final countdown, but we're close. Stay subscribed!

Step 1 is nearly complete

The domain is live, the blog is up (though the archives are still using the generic MT templates) and I've started getting the hardware. To start things off I am trying to keep it simple, yet high-quality. I will be using the Mac and Soundtrack Pro to produce the show, though now I am rehearsing with Garageband, which is a pretty good tool I have to say. For studio (really my desk) I have an AKG Perception 100 Condenser mic running through an M-Audio USB audio interface. For field work I will be using a Marantz PMD660 and a Beyer Dynamics M58 mic. The M58 is inexpensive and the mic favored by the BBC reporters, and the PMD660 is a recorder that records to compact flash. It is used by many NPR reporters.

Both the software and recorder should be here tomorrow, all the other equipment is here. I am shooting for having the first show done on Aug. 3. Still to do: get the feed host, set up the RSS feed and register with iTunes. And oh yeah, got to make the show.
